“The nature of your world is no more and no less than a reflection of the composite vision of the consciousness present.” — Rasha

All to often when we are alert, alive and aware of those with whom we interact on a daily basis, we are startled with a blatant truth in process. In many instances, it becomes woefully apparent that those individuals in which we come in contact are so completely involved in their own worlds, seemingly insulated from reality that consciousness is almost non-existent. They appear to be having a conversant exchange with you, however that becomes only a veil of illusion. As time evolves, you realize this exchange has now become your conscious dilemma, and the words of The Tao ring quite clear . . . “When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be. When I let go of what I have, I receive what I need.”

Something quite indelible happens in the moment. The individual with whom you are having a disconnected exchange is giving you the gift of discernment. You now have the opportunity to create an environment that nurtures understanding, acceptance and wisdom. When you receive the gift of illumination in any given situation, you possess the essence of freedom. Yes, that’s right. In a flitting moment, you have a spontaneous choice to recognize and heed another aspect of who you are . . . the freedom of choice in any given set of circumstances as reflected by Stephen Covy, “Our ultimate freedom is the right and power to decide how anybody or anything outside ourselves will affect us.”

Yes, it can be quite perplexing to be in the company of those who are completely alienated from their consciousness. At the same time, we can recognize that this moment can be a gift and take the opportunity to grow in our own conscious awareness. How you may ask? By remembering this quote from Carlos Castaneda . . . “We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.” JLR
