“That which we do not bring to consciousness appears in our lives as fate.” — Carl Jung
That voice inside you resonates throughout your entire lifetime. To recognize this voice as your personal truth is not a trick you play on yourself moving forward, on the contrary, when you begin to examine your intent and motivation based on moment to moment experience, the dawn arrives. What dawn you may ask? This is no hidden secret . . . it is the essence of your existence, and once you embrace the truth, there is no substitute. This applies to any walk of life as so aptly stated by Frank Lloyd Wright, “Simplicity and repose are the qualities that measure the value of any work of art.” We are each a unique work of art unto ourselves. . . without duplication or repetition.
What adds the most meaning to your present life? Might be it projects, tasks, endless lists of necessary things to do etc., that you fundamentally believe add to who really are? I think not. Have you ever asked yourself what brings you joy, happiness, peace, tranquility and serenity? Do you in this moment know? What really gives your present life meaning or purpose? Accomplishing endless lists of projects/tasks day after day adds continued stress, frustration, confusion and then we become overwhelmed. Taking it further, if the chaotic pace you have established for years comes to a halt, Patrick Overton suggests the following . . . “When you have come to the edge…and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught to fly.”
Can you honestly say you’re happy? This isen’t a trick question, and what is resonating within right now . . . that still, small voice that you usually ignore, is telling you the truth… perhaps for the first time. Don’t ignore it. Gandi had a beautiful way of expressing this . . . “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
Time will continue to march along whether you begin listening to that whisper within or not . . . that’s how this works. The choice is always yours and yes, you can fall back on that old reliable adage of the predictable time-clock of fate, and when you lack consciousness . . . that fits. However, looking at it another way you can choose to come out of your own shadow and resonate with the words of Eckhart Tolle, “All the things that truly matter, beauty, love, creativity, joy, and inner peace arise from beyond the mind.” What is beyond the mind? Your consciousness and freedom from the opression of your fear . . . yes . . . your basis in faith. JLR
