For the most part, we all believe that we have lived with “purposeful intention” most of our lives. Taking it a step further, what is intention and how has it impacted our lives? Simply put, intention is a course of action one intends to follow . . . we connect to making something happen for ourselves, which at closer examination . . . is the embodiment of “ego.” There is an anonymous quote that has been around for quite a long time which simply states, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” How do we look at our lives? Are we programed moment to moment, day to day, month to month even year to year? In many instances the response is . . . yes. How then do we change the pattern? By first consciously recognizing there is a pattern, with the willingness to surrender to change no matter what it takes. . . one step at a time. Carlos Costaneda a noted author simply states, “Intention is not a thought or an object, or a wish, intent is what can make a man succeed when his thoughts tell him that he is defeated. It operates in spite of the ‘warrior’s’ indulgence. Intent is what makes him invulnerable. Intent is what sends a shaman through a wall, through space, to infinity.” Once we surrender to making a change in our lives that embodies “conscious intention” while negating those details that have become an occupation, we are ready to connect that willingness to the energy that is the essence of life itself.
