At one point in my life’s journey, I heard a phrase that resonated so strongly within my being, that I conciously chose to focus my “intention” on exactly how I directed my purposeful choices from that point forward. It was just three words by Joseph Campbell . . . “Follow your bliss.” Up until that juncture, I strongly believed I was following my “bliss,” however upon further introspection gleened, my bliss was based on “ego consciousness” and not “source consciousness,” which I have come to intrinsically know and understand as vastly different. Sometimes in this “whirling dervish” we so blithely name life experience the lines become blurred, and we lose our way as paraphrased in a quote by Stephen Covey . . . “After climbing the ladder of success, we find that the ladder is leaning against the wrong building.” Has what you believed your “bliss” to be at this point an indication of empowerment, connection, balance, intention, purpose and inspiration or is it more likened to being taken over by insatiable drive, desire, intolerance, manipulation, bellicose opinions or deleterious motivation? Do you realize the difference of your intentions? When individuals are around you, do they feel high vibrational encouraging energy, or might they unobtrusively move away from your need to win, be right, controlling, or to dominate the space and conversation? Do you uplift people with your presence, bringing harmony through a creative environment? In living with what brings you joy, happiness, bliss etc., will spill over into the hearts, minds, and spirit of everyone with whom you come in contact. What determines the collective imbalance in human consciousness? Could it be the extremes in weather patterns such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, or can this phenomena be determined by scientific instrumentation, data or a confluence in our planet’s evolution? Following your bliss is aptly embodied in a quote by Michelangelo . . . “The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” JLR
