“”Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there. —- Rumi
The above quote may seem a bit quixotic, however, by observing yourself in this present moment there exists several obvious clues. Most of us view ourselves, environment, personal relationships and business connections from a firm subjective experience. We really don’t think this circumstance is peculiar, simply because this approach to life is manifested everywhere around us . . . it is accepted as quite normal. What are we accepting as normal, and simply put . . . do we know the difference? Have you ever taken the time to become an objective essence of what you perceive as an active, conscious, present, aware, alert, and involved human being? There are no right or wrong answers, just your individual perception of your conscious essence . . . objectively.
To be able to observe yourself objectively, and see what others see, experience and respond to takes courage for some. At first, it will seem odd, uncomfortable, alien, and unnatural. Our intent, motivation and conscious thinking may change a few degrees when we become the objective observer in our lives. In the words of Huang Po, there is another thought that begs attention . . . “Your true nature is not lost in moments of delusion, nor is it gained at the moment of enlightenment. It was never born and can never die.”
For some of us, we may never see, embrace, behold, understand, acknowledge or taste this eternal flame. For others . . . it illuminates our very being and enhances, enriches, embellishes who we are in every conscious moment of every day. As was said before . . . there exists no right or wrong answers. Perhaps in this life’s journey those poignant illuminations are meant to place you on another path of discovery not yet revealed. J. R. R. Tolkien uses these words which may soften the essence of your quest . . . “Not all who wander are lost.” Remember in the wandering, many have inadvertently found peace, tranquility, serenity and themselves. Perhaps that is the plan.
Take courage in knowing that we are all taking paths to reveal consciousness be it subjective or objective. Through the centuries of man’s existence questions have been asked, answered, repeated, re-phrased and re-calibrated to infinity. Present conscious awareness is a gift you give yourself, and once you cross that threshold there is no turning back . . . you really wouldn’t wish to make that decision of going backwards. Through the centuries man has asked questions on multiple levels of consciousness as revealed to them in that moment, and Goethe added this . . . “Ignorant men raise questions that wise men answered a thousand years ago.” JLR
