“In one atom are found all the elements of the earth; in one motion of the mind are found all the motions of existence; in one drop of water are found all the secrets of the endless oceans; in one aspect of you are found all the aspects of life.” —- Kahlil Gibran
Given the above quote the questions that come to mind are: 1. Reflecting on the substance and meaning of Gibran’s words, why are countless millions addicted and subservient to a myriad of electronic devices? 2. Why is it so challenging to carry on a substantive conversation with family, friends, loved ones, colleagues, associates, clients, etc., without being interrupted by a signal chime, clang, or buzz of a message, text or the like while left waiting to resume an already fragmented conversation? 3. In most restaurants, patrons of any age are seated and seen pulling out electronic devices for an inordinate amount of time without acknowledging the host, menu, server or each other . . . why? When we become conscious of what we hold within ourselves in every atom, motion, and aspect . . . the disconnect between the limitless possibilities that exist within ourselves, and the unfathomable technologies that are rendering countless addictive behaviors . . . is beyond alarming. We are missing a fundamental truth regarding how interconnected we are without electronics expressed through The Science of Mind . . . “Something great has transpired between us – a liberation of consciousness that allows me to see how completely interconnected we all are. That I can experience this in myself, is the beginning of healing the world.” At what point have we disavowed this possibility?
Are we capable of living simply, without a complex structure to enhance, enable, enrich, or embellish our existence or experience? Yes, today our world is complex, but it’s up to us on how complicated we wish our personal and/or professional lives to be. No one is writing that script except ourselves. Do all those e-mails, text messages, and voice-mails really need to be answered within seconds of receipt? Would the world come to a screeching halt if we turned off all the electronics for a day, a week or even a month? We’ll never know, if we don’t change our behavior and put the “thinking about it into action.” Whether we wish to believe this or not, we draw to us what we fear, mistrust, and create. For some, they may never realize this concept, for others and we must consider them the lucky ones, that truth is reflected through these words in The Science of Mind . . . “Wherever we are in our life is because of where we are in consciousness. Our belief system creates our reality.” You alone can make the choice, your consciousness of being creates your experience, and using all the gifts within you, is the enlightenment to your existence.
