How often do we look at ourselves, and understand how each word, phrase, conversation, behavior, look, or expression may affect another individual or group of people? Our perception and perspective is usually subjective given our preoccupation with “self.” Involvement with ourselves is learned and then conditioned over a lifetime. The choice is always ours to reflect on this in another way by becoming “aware” of the impact we have on another. I was reminded of this with a quote from William Shakespeare, “O would some power the giftie gie us, to see ourselves as others see us.” Taking responsibility for our interaction with others, is the first step while embracing “who we are in the present moment.” JLR
